BAISAKHI

Baisakhi, also known as Vaisakhi, is mainly a Sikh festival that falls on the 13 th  or 14 th  of April each year. It is celebrated with great pomp and show in Punjab as well as other parts of the country. Baisakhi is basically a Sikh festival that marks the New Year for the Sikh community. It is also celebrated by people from the Hindu community. It is a way of honouring the Khalsa Panth of the warriors under Guru Gobind Singh. The Khalsa Panth was formed in the year 1699. Baisakhi is one such festival that is celebrated for different reasons by different people. For the farmers, it is the first day of the Baisakh season which is that time of the year when all their hard work pays off.
